Tree Plantation Community Service

Tree Plantation

Rotary Club of Guskara organized tree plantation programme at two schools- Guskara PP Institution and Ukta Pichkuri High school with the aim of promoting environment awareness and contributing to a greener community. Total 40 saplings of fruit and wood trees namely - Mango, Jack tree, Jamrul, Safeda, Jam, Amlaki, Bakful, Guava, Arjun, Mehagani are planted in both schools ground. The event involved 200 participants including students, teachers of both schools. They actively took part in planting saplings and awared about the importance of tree for the environment. It is expected in future these planted trees contribute to cleaning air, improved biodiversity and a more aesthetically pleasing environment of those schools.

"Floor to Table" at Mid-day Meal Hall at school

Rotary Club of Guskara successfully completed the Rotary District 3240 Foundation Trust funded project "Floor to Table-Installation concrete of tables and seating benches in Mid-day Meal Hall at Guskara P P Institution. The project was inaugurated by Rtn Chandan Roy AG, Zone-3 and was handed over to the school authority for use on 16th April 2026.The facility has been designed to accommodate 150 students per batch, as result 300 students will be benefited during lunch time ensuring a safe , hygienic and comfortable dining environment for the students of Guskara P P Institution.

Food Baskets Distribution to TB Patients Community Service

Food Baskets Distribution to TB Patients

As Nikhsay Mitra initiative Rotary Club of Guskara organised Food Baskets Distribution to TB patients for six months at Bannabogram BPHC on The World TB Day i.e. 24th March, 2026 at 2 pm. The objectives of this initiative are to improve treatment outcomes and to reduce mortality by providing nutritious food to underprivileged TB patients. In this programme five foods packets contains rice, pulses, vegetable oil, eggs, soyabean are distributed to needy TB patients in presence of BOMH and health services staff of said BPHC. The food coupons for next five months had been handed over to corresponding health workers who will serve the food baskets to the selected beneficiaries in due time. Expected this project will bridge the nutrition gap for underprivileged TB patients as malnutrition is a risk factor for TB patients.

Free Health Check-up Camp Community Service

Free Health Check-up Camp

Rotary Club of Guskara organised A Free Health Check-up Camp in association with The Mission Hospital of Durgapur at Sonar Bangla Anusthan Bhaban, Guskara from 10 :00 am to 2:30 pm on 15th March, 2026. The primary aim of the camp was to promote health awareness and early detection of illnesses in the community and to provide accessible healthcare services to underserved of the locality. A team of doctors conducted screening the participants in the field of general medicine, cardiology, pulmonology, orthopadic and gynecological. Doctors provided counseling on preventive care, diet, hygiene and lifestyle changes. In this Camp 157 patients recieved on spot screening of blood pressure, blood sugar and ECG. Participants were enthusiastic and appreciated the proactive initiative, ensuring early detection of health issue like hypertension, blood sugar etc. The iniciative was widely successful in rasing health consciousness and bridging the gap between underserved and medical services.

Mid-day meal on Rotary Birthday

On 23rd February 2026 on occasions of 121 Rotary Birthday club arranged a healthy mid-day meal for the students of Goligram Primary School. After cutting birthday cake fifty six students take the lunch with beguni, rice, aalu posto, chicken curry, chatni, and rosgulla. Club members also enjoy the mid-day meal as lunch with the students. After completing the lunch some tlm - pen, pencil, eraser, sharpener, colour pencil as gifts are distributed among the students.

In the month of December RC Guskara organised an awareness program on Disease Prevention and Treatment at Majhpukur Para, Guskara Municipality Ward no -3 on 28 at 6:00. In this Awareness Programme " Prevention Is greater than Cure"- *The Prevention & Treatment of waterbrone and airbrone diseases were discussed by Rtn Dr Shyamal Kr Das. * The various Vaccines were informed by Rtn Dr Subrata Ghosh. * The invited councellor of that ward gives vote of thanks * Total 48 resident of Majhpukur Para, Guskara (W-3) are directly awered through this programme.

More about 2 Km from Baronilpur More to Aurobindo Stadium at Bardhaman this Mega Rally with 300 participents highlighted the role Rotary & made awareness on Polio Vaccine and Polio Eradication from world.

Sports Materials Distribution

RC Guskara organised Sports Materials Distribution Programme at Banpara Adibasi Primary School on 23rd Sept 2025. In this programme various type of sport materials i e. football, volly ball, cricket set, badminton set, flying disc, skipping rope, chess board have been distributed among the 72 students of that school. After distribution the smiling faces and spontaneous performances of the student assured that these materials will promote the mental well-being, physical fitness, regular attendance, friendship, co-ordination and joyful schooling along with teaching learning of the tribe students.

Mother and Child Health

In this Awareness Programme mothers childs and other females, total 52 residents of Word No -8 of Guskara Municipality participated as beneficiaries at the Yard of Egiye Cholo Club. Rtn Dr Shyamal Kumar Das, Rtn Dr Subrata Ghosh as health experts hilights the various measures, check-ups, treatment, observations before Pregnancy, During Pregnancy, after Child Birth, Breast Feeding, Vaccination etc. Health Inspector of GM informed the community about the different facilities which are available in government health centers and services from ASHA sisters and ICDS worker. At last session The Interactions between Experts and Mothers was a good signs of awareness to be Healthy Mother and to be A Carefully Mother for their Child.

Mushroom Cultivation: A Business Entrepreneurship

Rotary Club of Guskara organized an business entrepreneurship programme on Mushroom Cultivation on 24th August, 25 at Gobindapur Sephali Memorial Polytechnic College with collaboration Positive Barta. In this programme students of different college, unemployed passouts and young farmers total 124 take part as interested participants. Professor Krishnendu Acharya, Deptt of Botany, The University of Calcutta, as an expert, highlighting the food value and recent demand of mushroom discussed the process of cultivation and various uses of mushroom other than food and the various routes of business of mushroom products with minimum capital and time. At the interaction session the responses and queries with bright and smiling face from participants side revealed they are inspired, motivated to devlope entrepreneurship in the promissing fields of mushroom.

Dengue Awareness Programme

Rotary Club of Guskara organised an awareness programme on dengue at Community Hall, Ward-4, Guskara Municipality at 7:00 pm to make aware the community about the prevention, tretment and control of Dengue. In this programme 46 residents attended and were aware. In this awareness programme Rtn Dr Shyamal Kumar Das and Rtn Subrata Ghosh acted as health professional. Rtn Dr Shyamal Kumar Das focused on the epidemiology of dengue while Rtn Dr Subrata Ghosh highlighted the etiology of dengue. Invited Chairman of Municipality, Councillor of the ward, Sanitary Inspector, ASHA of the word informed the what measures have been done and appealed to the community to co-operate and to attach with dengue related projects and events for prevention and controlling the dengue. Lastly, leaflets "Do & Dont" regarding dengue are distributed to the community as ready reference to take measure to prevent, control and treatment of dengue.

Rotary club of Guskara on occasion of Independence Day distributed fruits & healthy food to the patients admitted in Guskara Primary Health Centre for their speedy recovery from illness. In this programme Rtn Dr Shyamal Kumar Das and Rtn Dr Subrata Ghosh shortly discussed on necessity of proper nutrition for our good health. Admitted patients relised to take fruits and healthy food daily after discharge from the health center.
